Here a Hint, There a Hint, Everywhere a Hint

True to my word I left minxie to settle into her new world and occupied myself with the reality of getting Ladonna in check for the lady with appetites a voracious as hers would be responsible for a full scale circus if not kept in check. I attempted to hint to the lady that my sister would be a person worth consulting for her taste was always impeccable, but alas it appeared to fall upon deaf ears. My darling sister attempted to glide out of sight but did not quite to manage to escape a brotherly word of advice as I explained to her that if she did not want to become the spectacle of the year it might be in her best interest to feign interest in Ladonna’s plans as a word wisely placed here and there might result the lady controlling her passion for all things puce.

Liselle merely snorted at my suggestion answering with the reply that since I had cut the brakes it was up to me to stop this runaway train. Her lack of concern leads me to believe that I have left my darling sister far too long to her own devices for it was one thing to allow her this continuous and almost embarrassing pursuit of the baron, it was another when she puts her needs above my wishes. I felt a little midnight rendezvous might remind her just what the term ‘head of the household’ really means and hinted this was a plan I was considering which had the desired effect of her going off in search of Ladonna.

Caspar phoned me to tell me that minxie appears to have settled in well for although they had both started out confused as to what her duties were, the dear girl appears to have decided her role in his business. He confided that she was indeed and asset to him for her efficiency gives him far more time to pursue the more gratifying part of his business, namely bedding those who cross his path. I dropped the casual hint that while his sexual escapades were often an amusement to me, they were not to be the cause of minxie leaving his employ before the Dubois event. The dear boy assured me that he would keep his trousers zipped in her presence. I found the day exhausting for while I might be apart from minxie she still occupied my day.
