Ruffling the Feathers

I woke early this morning as I had much to do and started my busy day by putting the fear of Dubois into Caspar Royale. When I had him employ minxie it was not to have her as an ornament, he was to keep an eye on her, and instead he was busy attempting to keep his sex life in order while running a business. One day he was going to sleep with one too many husband or wives, Caspar was never that discriminating and will find himself in a scandal that even I cannot avert.

Normally when in this state of tension I would find myself at the door of one Nadia Voss, a sweet songbird with medium talent and major ambition as she and I have had our agreements in the past. She sates whatever fury stirs my veins and I ensure she meets all the correct people to advance her career, well as far as one with medium talent can go. It did not please me when she pointed out to me that she was stuck singing in an entertainment restaurant when she should be signing a contract with Osmosis Jones but then again I was not amused by her dalliances and I did not point out to her that had her talent been obvious Osmosis would have signed her.

I required her other talents at that moment but the inconvenience of her current condition meant that I had to seek out some other creature, one who was unfortunately less motivated to please me completely and I woke in my own bed as I was not interested in any shared afterglow of emotion. I called my network of concerned affiliates, they are concerned I might destroy them socially or economically and I learned that minxie had escaped Caspar once again and lunched with her mountainous suitor. The luncheon had infused minxie with an animation that was absent in our exchanges and the dull rush of anger filled me, she needs to come to her senses and realise that her continued association with him would only lead to his misery. Minxie you and I will come to a reckoning sooner rather than later.
