When Man Meets Mountain

When Man Meets Mountain

I had discovered from a casual statement made by my cousin that minxie would be clubbing tonight at her usual haunt. My cousin newly returned from her little sojourn and in an attempt to curry my favour would often drop these little gems of information about minxie so tonight I rewarded her comment with an equally casual remark that we must see more of Royce Vanderhaven in our lives.

I know my cousin has her rimy little heart set upon his surfer inanity but who am I to impede the path of true love, certainly not a man who has his heart set upon a wild little creature who despised him. I followed minxie and her band of whining cohorts at a careful distance as I did not wish her to notice my presence, at least not at that moment. This can at times be difficult as the groveling minions of various establishments often obstruct my view with their scraping and toadying so I often need to encourage their absence with a display of displeasure.

Minxie was a delight to watch as she mingled with her contemporaries for while they were a parody of youth in their painted attempts of beauty, her pale clarity glowed amongst them as a diamond would glitter against coal. Her skin so satin and flawless made my hands ache to stroke her, her hair so silk and gleaming made me long to twist it and pull until she fell to her knees before me.

The thought of her mouth against my burning flesh while I held onto her silk rope of hair consumed me with a desire so intense it took all my resolve not to drag her away to vent my passion until I shuddered a release into the recesses of her being. I watched her disappear into the Ladies room with her cackle of friends and withdrew into a dark niche to cool the embers of my fervor for it would not be fitting for a gentleman of my caliber to seen in open lust.

When she returned alone I considered approaching her and was just evolving a plan to isolate her when the shadow of a mountain obscured my view and there he was again, in my way and in her life. We already had our skirmishes at university and you would think the fool would have learned his lesson that attempting to thwart a Dubois is a dangerous choice. Minxie to my disgust was luminous with pleasure and spent the night frolicking with this slab of rock on the dance floor. Fury sparked through my veins making my blood acid with rage for I would not tolerate Simon interfering in my plans and will demolish him accordingly.

I was just about to insert myself between them when again I am interrupted by a slobbering fool of a minion, who in some misguided decision felt that bothering me was a wise career choice and after showering him with icy wrath I turned to discover minxie and the mountain had absconded. I allowed myself the five minutes it took with the minion’s superior to destroy his life before leaving myself. It was upon driving through the town I passed by Sugar, an all night café with outdoor seating, there I saw them sitting, happily chatting and more importantly oblivious to my existence.

Unable to contain myself any longer I again was driven to reveal myself not only in public, but to her as well. I drove passed them slowly and allowed minxie to see me glare but it was her lump of a suitor who fuelled my storm with his impudent grin. He will rue this day for the rest of his life as I can and will fill her heart with scorn for the very sight of him.
