Start->Chapter 4->Episode 13 To Lucinda
I attended to the day to day running of my enterprises in a perfunctory manner as my mind dwelled upon minxie at every moment. I had a vague plan in motion but it depended upon so many factors and timing so I expressly drilled into Alex to do exactly what I told him, when I told him, as I did not wish to rush this devastation. I wished to savour the climatic buildup until I could observe at first hand the destruction of minxie. I had cultivated a minion at her current place of employment, a newly married salesman who was just as desperate to keep his sexual proclivities secret as he was to indulge them. I arranged for Tim to pander to his passions and he arranged to be party to all her communications.
It was through him that I discovered where she and the mountain would be dining and that is where I decided to allow Simon the first hint of my intent so I meandered through the rest of my day waiting in delicious anticipation for the moment of ambush. I do enjoy these moments more than I should for there was no one else around me who could appreciate their subtle finesse, the weeks of carefully arranging as much as I. Maybe, perhaps my deceased uncle who was known for some excellent boardroom decimations and personal devastations that were well chronicled in the history gossip of this town.
I picked up my cohorts and made my way to the latest of the trendy dejunettes, one of those little cafés that likes to pass itself off as an eatery. With its pseudo African décor and a bit of jungle inspired music it caters to the middle classes yearning to add substance to the white bread of their existence as they flock to have the “ethnic” experience. My name instantly reserved a table and I used the opportunity to obtain the time of minxie’s reservation. I planned for our arrival to be while they were relaxing over their meal and I must say it was timed to perfection.
We discovered them relaxed, chatting, totally oblivious to the whirlwind about to sweep them out of their comfortable little niche and into my hell. I entered with Tim and Alex in tow, Alex, of course has yet to reveal himself completely and is for now only going to grace us with his presence. It was a presence that was powerful enough to turn a mountain white with apprehension, for Simon took one look at us and virtually fled with a protesting minxie in tow. I wonder how long he can avoid the inevitable truth that has come to visit.
