Eye on The Prize

One glorious aspect of having minions is that they tell you everything, either by chance or design so when I was having a fairly mundane day of business I was saved by the chance remarks of one of the bodies I employ. My morning started with no interesting gossip where I could apply a nice Dubois coda, nothing to intervene, destroy or undo and while I had the wheels of destruction in motion there was that interminable wait for the pieces to fall into place.

I was verging on the edge of boredom when one of my lesser beings returning from a luncheon said in passing that the town was buzzing with the scandal that the Sedero’s had parted company. It appeared that the wife had finally tired of the hubby’s wandering ways, and I can assure you this gentleman was none the too fussy where he wandered and although he had a fling with my songbird I am certain he did not enjoy her in the manner that I have! Of course my minion being of the trite mind that minions often are did not realise I was far more interested in the second part of his offering, that he happened to see the daughter of the wandering Sedero being consoled by minxie.

It seemed while she was drying tears in the corner that ape boy made his usual dramatic, idiotic entrance and if looks could kill those two exchanged glances sharp as knives which gave me a delicious thrill of black joy. To manage to destroy a budding relationship so utterly with such little energy was always a source of pride to me but my joy was short lived as I considered the effort of destroying her current relationship was while not considerable, did cause me to actually import my weapon of destruction.

I had made the mistake of underestimating Simon, not his capacity for evil as he has none but his capacity of understanding me. Perhaps our past has become a distant memory, for him to so easily forget my capacity for revenge or perhaps he was so enamored of his new love that he dared to risk all. Minxie, life presents us with challenges and your desolation is mine.
